Oadby Pet Hotel consists of a large purpose built shed (14 x 10) with under eaves ventilation for good airflow, which is necessary both in winter and summer.

This is locked at night-time and other times as necessary. The door is a stable door, which enables the bottom half to be locked, and the top to remain open – a good idea in the summer when extra airflow in the warmer weather is required. The shed window is large and also drops down to open in the summer. Net is used over the door and window to keep out flies etc.

The hutches provided come in 2 different styles either traditional wooden hutches, which we have had built in a block or large indoor hutches, which are suitable for one large or 2 small rabbits or guinea pigs and are light and airy. Each one has a built in hayrack, water bottle and sleeping area.

All guests are housed separately unless from the same family.

Pets such as hamsters/mice/gerbils or chinchillas need to bring their own cages please.

All hutches are provided with fresh shavings, straw or hay and recycled paper, which I use as additional bedding usually under the hay (provided by many friends)! Each hutch first being lined with newspaper – also recycling!

You will need to bring your pet’s usual food (dry food), which is especially important for rabbits, as their digestion cannot always cope with sudden changes in diet. You may bring fresh vegetables/fruit if you wish but this is usually provided.

Fresh water is of course provided and changed daily. Fresh hay is also freely given.

If your rabbit/guinea pig has special toys, a blanket or favourite ‘thing’ please bring it along to make them feel more at home.

Runs allow pets to go out and exercise if desired.

Rabbits will need to be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and VHD by your vet at least 36 hours before arrival and the vaccination card needs to be shown when boarding please.
